Deadline Desk

Terms of Business

The deal, in plain English. These terms apply to all work unless a written proposal says otherwise. Last updated 11 June 2026.

1. Who these terms are for

Deadline Desk works with businesses, charities, schools and other organisations. Our services are for business clients, not consumers acting privately.

2. What we do

We review, restructure and strengthen business documents, and we rebuild repeat paperwork and the working packs behind it. Fixed-price services are described on our website; larger work is scoped in a written proposal with one fixed figure, deliverables, timeline and exclusions.

3. Payment and the clock

4. What we need from you

5. What we do not do

6. Your documents, our materials

7. Confidentiality and data protection

We keep your materials confidential and handle them as described in our Privacy Policy: secure upload, restricted access, minimum necessary data, deletion 90 days after completion. Where your materials contain personal data about others, we act as your processor, on your instructions only, and a signed data processing agreement is available on request. We are happy to sign a reasonable NDA.

8. Cancellations

If you cancel before work has started, we refund in full. Once work has started, we agree a fair figure for the work done to that point and refund the balance. For scoped projects, the proposal sets out staged payments and what happens on early termination.

9. If something goes wrong

Tell us and we will put it right where we reasonably can. Our total liability for any work is limited to the fees paid for that work. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost funding, lost contracts or lost profits. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Complaints

Email hello@deadlinedesk.co.uk with the word Complaint in the subject. We acknowledge within 2 working days and respond fully within 5.

11. The legal bits

Deadline Desk is the trading name of a UK sole trader business based in Staffordshire, England. Full operator details and an address for service appear on all invoices and engagement paperwork, and are available on request from hello@deadlinedesk.co.uk. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, together with a written proposal where one exists, are the whole agreement.
